Cambrian EdVentures is the world's first catalyst for entrepreneurship that both educates founders and incubates their startups.  We help aspiring entrepreneurs master the knowledge, skills and mindsets needed to start companies and scale them.  Cambrian EdVentures is blazing a trail to become the world's first educator-incubator hybrid.

Named after the Cambrian explosion of 540 million years ago, which stood witness to a sudden and prolific diversification of flora and fauna, Cambrian EdVentures will give life to the ambitions of every aspiring entrepreneur anywhere on the planet!

Our Team

We are a group of entrepreneurs and academics, supported by angel investors and venture capitalists, and united by the belief that the most effective way to generate economic growth and produce jobs as well as to empower people around the world is to promote entrepreneurship.  This is not a new insight. However, what gets us excited is the prospect of demystifying entrepreneurship--by simplifying, clarifying, codifying and teaching it--to the point where any aspiring founder--anywhere in the world, no matter what her or his socioeconomic circumstances--can fulfill the ambition to start a business.  

Our Uniqueness

Cambrian EdVentures helps its founder-candidates adopt an entrepreneurial orientation by modeling learning and risk-taking.  

As founders discover customer preferences and whether their offerings meet the preferences, they must pivot, or change course.  The ability to pivot requires the ability to learn--and the humility to accept the need for learning. Cambrian EdVentures teaches entrepreneurs to be continuous learners, reflective thinkers and hypothesis testers.  Its forward-looking pedagogy, called competency-based education (CBE), encourages candidates to take ownership of their learning.  CBE places the onus on the candidate to master the competencies prescribed in her or his personalized curriculum.  In this way, aspiring founders come to appreciate that learning is an integral part of the evolution of an entrepreneur, CEO and leader. 

Being an entrepreneur entails taking risks; so, Cambrian Ventures models risk-taking by investing in the companies founded by its candidates. In fact, we are so confident of the [Catalyze = Educate + Incubate + Accelerate] model we pioneered that, for every venture launched and funded (or otherwise independently validated by the market), we refund some or all of the tuition in exchange for an equity-stake in the venture. We believe that our confidence in our candidates' readiness--tempered by Cambrian preparation--is the best way for us to model risk-taking--to put our money where our mouths are, so to speak!
